The Real Aim of Virginia’s Transpo Deal
Should Gov. Tim Kaine take the Republican deal on transportation, or should he veto the bill and let voters decide this fall what they want to do about traffic and the commuting nightmare they face each day? -- By Marc Fisher, March 5, 2007; Washington Post
When It’s a Parkway, the Trees Win
The Baltimore-Washington Parkway has been two lanes each way for over 40 years. There are no businesses on it, no homes, no nothing but exit and on-ramps and trees on both sides. The Politics of Driving in the Left Lane
It seems to me that the Legislature in Richmond should have more to do with transportation than trying to find a way to fine people for driving in the left lane. While I applaud the general concept of keeping the left lane open for passing or for emergencies, it seems to me that this is just one more problem in this region more than anywhere else in the commonwealth. -- By Steve Eldridge, February 13, 2007; The Examiner
